Every third Thursday, the Museum opens its doors after hours to partner with and embrace Mississippi’s creative community. It’s year six of the annual garden party that brings together the best of Mississippi’s growing food truck culture under downtown Jackson skies.
New this year, the trucks will roll in early and be open for your third Thursday lunch break. Treat yourself to a diverse selection of fare from the state’s mobile culinarians, while enjoying live music from the C Spire Stage courtesy the Greater Jackson Arts Council with support from Visit Jackson.
“Since it began in 2014, the Food Truck Festival has been a popular part of our May Museum After Hours, a monthly event that that occurs every third Thursday of the month from 5:30 to 10 p.m. The Festival has grown tremendously in popularity over the last five years, and this year, we decided that expanding the hours to include lunch service was the next logical step in giving even more diners the opportunity to visit downtown Jackson for a fun and tasty outdoor event in our beautiful Art Garden,” said Museum Director of Events Shelley Yates.
This year’s festival-goers will enjoy a pop-up exhibition showcasing work and music by Mississippi Arts Commission’s 2019 apprentices, outdoor Art Lab activities for all ages, and The Museum Store Sidewalk Sale before settling in on the BankPlus Green for a special edition of Screen on the Green featuring Disney’s Moana.
This family-friendly event is FREE and open to the public.
The Museum is now taking applications for food truck vendors for this year’s event. Vendors will be accepted on a first-come, first served basis.
