Learn more about Junior League of Jackson’s annual Touch a Truck event!

We had a chance to sit down with Jennie Simmons and Kelly Vanderver from Junior League of Jackson to discuss Touch a Truck 2021!

MARCH 26-27, 2021

Touch A Truck®Jackson is a family-friendly, hands-on event that offers opportunities for children to EXPLORE, CLIMB and TOUCH trucks, emergency response vehicles, heavy machinery and other equipment. Children also get to meet the personnel who protect, serve, and build our community. TAT also offers FIELD TRIP FRIDAY, an opportunity for students from select public schools in the Jackson metro area to attend the event at no cost, as well as new SENSORY FRIENDLY hours for children with sensitivities and their families. In addition to the hands-on learning and exploration of exhibits, students attending Touch A Truck® Jackson will enjoy S.T.R.E.A.M. interactive booths that support science, technology, reading, engineering, art, and mathematics education.

This year’s event will roll into Trustmark Park in Pearl, MS, on March 26-27, 2021. Virtual Field Trip Friday will be offered to schools throughout Mississippi. Children will participate virtually with their S.T.E.M Kits as they watch and have a hands on interactive experience from home. STEM kits are a great way for students to interact with the video in real-time, teaching them to think critically, constructively, and creatively. STEM kits will be $30, and additional kits can be purchased at a reduced rate of $20.
