Beignet Fest, the annual festival featuring creative and traditional beignet creations, is the latest event joining the busy fall festival lineup.

Organizers announced Beignet Fest will return to the festival grounds at New Orleans City Park on Sept. 25.

Now returning for its fifth year, the fest will feature dozens of beignet dishes, live music, local artists, a beer garden and a sensory-friendly Kids Village for children of all abilities.

The music lineup features Daria & The Hip Drops, Imagination Movers, Marc Stone 3, TBC Brass Band and Bo Dollis Jr. and the Wild Magnolias.

“We are all ready to get festin’ again,” executive director and festival founder Sherwood Collins said. “We’re especially thrilled to bring back Beignet Fest this year to provide an opportunity for local culture bearers to get back to work, from musicians and stage crews to the food vendors. Likewise, we know locals and visitors alike are eager to enjoy live, local music and the iconic beignet served up dozens of different ways once again.”

The festival also serves as a fundraiser for the Tres Doux Foundation, with proceeds benefiting community programs that serve children with autism and related developmental differences.

Beignet Fest will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Organizers say food vendors and a full menu will be announced later this summer.

In 2020, organizers launched “Beignet Fest at Their Place,” a socially-distant food vendor pop-up event, in lieu of the festival due to COVID-19.

This year, Beignet Fest will charge a $20 admission per person this year “to continue to grow and fulfill its mission,” organizers said in a release. Children age 4 and under enter free with a paid adult.

Tickets are on sale via the Beignet Fest website.
