The Perfect Time to make your Severe Weather Plan is Now!

If you go outside right now you’ll see sunny skies, and hear the birds chirping away. Totally opposite of the severe weather that started off the day at around 3:15 this morning. Even if you tend to sleep through your alarm clock, you probably couldn’t sleep through this.

But the truth is, when the weather gets severe, it’s a little late to just start thinking of your safety plan. You want to be as prepared as possible, and adding harsh conditions to the mix can be stressful for you and your family. Try to create your severe weather safety plan as soon as you hear serious conditions could be on the way.

Some tips on staying safe during severe weather include

  • Stay informed of all changing conditions on WLBT’s First Alert Weather App
  • Evacuate mobile homes when advised
  • Seek shelter in a sturdy building, or safe house
  • Go to the lowest level of your building
