National Hug a Newsperson Day, Monday April 4th

Hug at your own risk...

JACKSON, Miss. (MISSISSIPPI WEEKEND) -

National Hug a Newsperson Day is a fun day to acknowledge all your local reporters, anchors, and people behind the scenes for bringing the news to your community.

Here’s a couple of tips to keep in mind when celebrating National Hug a Newsperson Day. First, make sure you ASK the newsperson if they want to be hugged before you go for it. Then, try not to insult the newsperson before going in for a hug, or you’ll end up like Barbie and I- abandoned mid embrace.

One things for sure, our Today at 11 producer Alex is always up for a good laugh. And if you’re apart of the 8% of people that think news people wear sweats or pajama pants under the desk...

...If I’m going to look this good, I'm not going 50%, I'm going the whole nine yards!
