Ignite the Night: 10 Years of Fun!

On February 8, 2020, MCM Partners invites grown-ups to take over the museum for the most incredible birthday party in its history! Ignite the Night: 10 Years of Fun celebrates the visionaries, patrons, and guests who have made the Mississippi Children’s Museum THE destination for FUN for a decade. Dress in your favorite snappy casual outfit and we’ll provide gracious libations, tantalizing food, and the most outrageous birthday cake only MCM could dream up! In addition to tasty treats, we will also have festive games, a wide array of silent auction items, and party music. Together let’s eat cake and toast 10 Years of Fun at the Mississippi Children’s Museum!

Create Magical Bean Mosaics with MCM’s Visiting Artist, Teresa Haygood. Join us on Saturdays, February 8 and 22 with workshops at 11:00 am – 1:00 pm for an art-inspired afternoon! This program is included in general admission, museum membership and supported in part by funding from the Mississippi Arts Commission, a state agency, with funding, in part, from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Magic Monday

Start your week with fun! MCM will be open for special holiday Mondays from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm for extra hours of inspiration! Magic Mondays also include a special Food Lab program at 3:30 pm. General admission applies or use your museum membership for each visit!

Play. Eat. Learn. – On the Move! Motor Skills & Milestones

In this partnership between the Junior League of Jackson, the Center for Advancement of Youth, St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, and the Mississippi Children’s museum you will be able to take a peek inside the mind of a child for a free family learning series geared towards parents, caretakers, and educators, and more. This free educational series is open to the community and dinner will be provided with childcare is available for ages 3 to 10. Children will be allowed to play in the museum with supervision provided by members of the Junior League of Jackson while parents attend the program.

Dr. Seuss’ Silly Birthday Celebration

Save the date for a super silly party at the Mississippi Children’s Museum! You’re invited to celebrate with us as we create Lorax mustaches, oobleck, cook green eggs and Seuss kabobs, and learn about the beloved author Dr. Seuss at our annual birthday bash! Wear your favorite Dr. Seuss inspired costume and get ready to have fun! This silly celebration is sponsored by The Barksdale Reading Institute and The Radio People.  All activities are included with $10 general admission or MCM membership.
