Fall events and festivals guide for 2019

It's ~fall y'all~! It may still be hot as a tamale outside, but that doesn't stop the fun fall events and festivities from happening! Here is a list of events and festivals going on this year! We will constantly be updating this list, but let us know if we missed your favorite fall event!

SEPTEMBER 12-15

Magnolia Classic Cluster Dog Show

Get your bark on at the Mississippi Trademart Center with The Brandon Kennel Club and The Mississippi State Kennel Club as they host this Four Day Dog Show and will feature some of the top winning Dogs in the Country!

SEPTEMBER 14

Yazoo Music Festival 2019

From 1 pm to midnight join the Yazoo County Convention & Visitors Bureau for their 2nd annual Music Festival! This event is FREE! “This festival will present a great mix of artists from a variety of musical genres including R&B, Blues, Jazz, Rock, and Soul to celebrate Yazoo County’s rich contribution to the fabric of today’s music.”

SEPTEMBER 20

Park(ing) Day 2019

From 4pm to 8pm join the City of Jackson for Parking Day!

“PARK(ing) Day is an annual free open-source global event where residents, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public places. PARK(ing) Day has since evolved into a global movement.”

SEPTEMBER 21

2019 Cruzin’ Car Show

From 9 am to 2 pm join the Main Street Clinton Association for the Cruzin’ Car Show. This event is FREE to the public and $20 to register a car.

“Vintage and classic cars parade through the city of Clinton and park for the show located in historic Olde Towne. Enjoy fun music and delicious food at the event as over twenty awards are given to the show’s favorites. The car parade begins at 9:00 am, and the car show is from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.”

SEPTEMBER 28

HWY 49 FEST

This FREE and family-friendly event will be from 10 am to 10 pm at the Richland soccer fields!

Come enjoy a day of food, fun, festivities and live entertainment!

Live entertainment includes:

Dillon Carmichael               6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

LANCO                                  7:30 pm – 8:45 pm

SEPTEMBER 28

Wing Dang Doodle Festival

From 8 am to 4 pm at Gaddis Park in Forest, MS join the fun, food and music at the 16th annual Wing Dang Doodle Festival!

This event is FREE and family friendly. There will be a 5k, kids activities and a wing cook-off!

SEPTEMBER 28

Jackson WellsFest

This event is from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and is a family-friendly with FREE admission. 100% of the proceeds from this music festival benefit a local non-profit, Extra Table.

The Festival Features:

  • 8 a.m. – WellsFest 5K Run
  • 9 a.m. – WellsFest 1-Mile Fun Run
  • 9:30 a.m. – Pet Parade (ending in a special “Blessing of Pets”)
  • 10 a.m. – Entire Festival opens with two stages of non-stop music

Canton Fall Flea Market

OCTOBER 12

BBQ on the Boulevard

Gates will open at noon for event festivities at the Clinton Plaza shopping center and the official tasting will begin at 2:00 pm. “This is a great family-friendly event filled with good food, live music, and children’s activities.”

Greenville Delta Hot Tamale Festival

Their website shares,“The Delta Hot Tamale Festival is a fun-filled three-day event that celebrates local and regional artists, musicians, and tamale makers as well as some of the South’s most influential chefs and writers.”

Great Mississippi River Balloon Race aka Natchez Balloon Festival

We aren’t blowing hot air when we say, this event is one you won’t want to miss out on! Along with awesome hot-air balloons, there will be food, kids activities and live music! Here is the live music line up:
